Overview
Canada is the second largest country in the world and the largest in North America. Renowned worldwide for its vast distances and rich natural beauty, its unique blend of cultures and multifaceted history, Canada is a major tourist destination and one of the world's wealthiest countries.

Climate
Most areas of Canada have four distinct seasons: spring, summer, fall, and winter, especially in the regions lying along the U.S. border. Temperatures differ a lot in most parts of the country. In Spring (March, April, May, June), it is usually rainy in most parts of Canada. The temperatures increase but nights remain cool. In Summer (July, August), it is often hot and dry, with occasional rain storms. In Fall (September, October, November), frost occurs overnight. Leaves on trees change color and drop. Snowfalls begin in most areas in November and usually remains on the ground from late December until March except in southwestern B. C.

Get there

Generally, people or visitors will fly to Canada by Air Canada (AC) . Also you can travel to Canada by Canadian rail system which connects to the USA at several points. Major routes are: New York-Montréal, New York-Buffalo-Niagara Falls-Toronto and Cleveland-Buffalo-Niagara Falls-Toronto.

Shopping
You may purchase some Canadian crafts for your families or friends such as art woodcarvings, leather goods, pottery and native artworks are available. However, some countries have restrictions against the import of endangered animal species products, such as products made from polar bear, seal, walrus or whale, so visitors should check entry regulations in their home country before departure; some of these products may also require a Canadian export certificate.

Shopping hours:
Mon-Sat 0900-1800, with late-night shopping in some stores Thurs-Fri, up to 2100 (malls in large cities are often open until 2100 Mon-Fri). Some shops and stores are also open on Sunday, and some are open 24 hours a day.

Nightlife
Every major provincial capital in the more populated areas has nightclubs. Montréal, Ottawa, Toronto, Vancouver, Calgary and Winnipeg are centres for ballet, opera and classical music, with visits from leading orchestras and internationally renowned performers.

Hotels
International hotel chains are represented in major cities, but advance booking is advised. Guest houses, bed & breakfast establishments and self-catering lodges are available throughout the country.

Remote hunting lodges are available to rent. This accommodation is ideal for fishing, hunting and hiking enthusiasts. Some are equipped with spacious living areas and even have spa facilities, while others are decidedly more rustic. There are youth hostels in cities across the country and in several national parks. Most universities offer budget-price accommodation during the summer vacation, usually between late May and mid August.
