  • Overview
Canadian Rocky Mountains are the easternmost part of the Canadian Cordillera, the collective name for the mountains of Western Canada. They are famous for their scenery, as well as for their skiing, snowboarding and hiking opportunities. One of the state's most popular attractions is the spectacular Rocky Mountain National Park with its alpine lakes, snow encrusted peaks, meadows and waterfalls that are the some of the most recognisable images of Colorado's natural beauty.

    Weather
For many travelers, the Rockies are a best choice for summer destination, and it starts to feel summery around June. The warm weather generally lasts until about mid-September. The winter, which brings in packs of powder hounds, doesn’t usually hit until late November, though snowstorms can start in the mountains as early as September. Winter usually lasts until March or early April. In the mountains, the weather is constantly changing (snow in summer is not uncommon), so always be prepared. Fall and spring are wonderful times to visit.
