Overview
Guangxi is located in Southwest China and is known as the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, because of its large Zhuang minority population. Characterized by marvelous seaside scenery and full-bodied ethnic customs, Guangxi is blessed with rich resources and is an imposing region for sightseeing. Bordering Vietnam, Guangxi is convenient for tourists crossing overland into Vietnam or vice-versa. With an area of about 230,000 square kilometers (88,780 square miles), topography of Guangxi is basin-like and the limestone distribution occupies half of the total area. When to go
It is rainy, warm and wet in Guangxi and you can travel there all year round. July is the warmest and average temperature is 23 C to 29 C; the coldest is in January, and average temperature is about 6C to 16C. In Guangxi, 80 percent of the rain occurs from April to September. Annual average rainfall is 1250 to 1750 millimeters (49.2 to 68.9 inches) in the most areas.
