  • 2The 2nd day Idaho Falls

    Great Salt Lake
Great Salt Lake, lake in northern Utah, U.S., the largest inland body of salt water in the Western Hemisphere and one of the most saline inland bodies of water in the world. The lake is fed by the Bear, Weber, and Jordan rivers and has no outlet. The lake has fluctuated greatly in size, depending on the rates of evaporation and the flow of the rivers that feed it. Like the Dead Sea, the Great Salt Lake exists within an arid environment and has chemical characteristics similar to that of the oceans. It has a much greater salinity than the oceans, however, since natural evaporation exceeds the supply of water from the rivers feeding the lake.

    Utah State Capitol
The Utah State Capitol is the house of government for the U.S. state of Utah. The building houses the chambers and offices of the Utah State Legislature, the offices of the Governor, Lieutenant Governor, Attorney General, the State Auditor and their staffs. The capitol is the main building of the Utah State Capitol Complex, which is located on Capitol Hill, overlooking downtown Salt Lake City. The Neoclassical revival, Corinthian style building was designed by architect Richard K.A. Kletting, and built between 1912 and 1916. The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1978.

    Temple Square
Temple Square is a 10-acre (4.0 ha) complex, owned by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church), in the center of Salt Lake City, Utah.  Contained within Temple Square are the Salt Lake Temple, Salt Lake Tabernacle, Salt Lake Assembly Hall, the Seagull Monument, and two visitors' centers. The square was designated a National Historic Landmark District in 1964, recognizing the Mormon achievement in the settlement of Utah.

    Library Square
Library Square is a public plaza that was designed to create opportunities for community festivals, events, and celebrations. It adjoins the main branch of the Salt Lake City Public Library system. It is a place to meet friends, relax with a book, watch a concert, participate in a debate or celebrate the city.

Salt Lake 2002 Olympic Cauldron Park
The Salt Lake 2002 Olympic Cauldron Park is a plaza located at the south end of Rice–Eccles Stadium on the campus of the University of Utah in Salt Lake City, Utah. During the 2002 Winter Olympics, Rice-Eccles Stadium was known as Rice-Eccles Olympic Stadium and hosted the Opening and Closing Ceremonies. The plaza contained a 2002 Winter Olympic museum, the Olympic cauldron, and other memorabilia from the 2002 Olympic Games. The cauldron is the only feature from the Olympics remaining in the plaza. The park has three main highlights: the cauldron, the Hoberman Arch, and the visitor center. The park is also landscaped with fountains, plants, stones, and concrete walls.

  • 3The 3rd day Grand Teton National Park

    Grand Teton National Park
Grand Teton National Park is located in the Rocky Mountains, Northwest Wyoming. Grand Teton National Park is noted for its stunning mountain vistas, its shimmering alpine lakes and its abundant wildlife.

    Yellowstone National Park
The largest, oldest, and most famous national park displays a fascinating scenery of hot springs, geysers, canyons & waterfalls, and nature everywhere you look! The beauty is beyond the limits of human art and is the most wonderful and spectacular scenery on the surface of the earth.

    Old Faithful Geyser
Old Faithful is a cone geyser in the Upper Geyser Basin of Yellowstone National Park. It is one of the park's most well-known natural features and is famous for its predictability. It generally erupts every 91 minutes.

    The Grand Prismatic Hot Spring
The Grand Prismatic Spring, with approximately 370 feet (110 m) in diameter and is 160 feet (50 m) deep, which discharges an estimated 560 US gallons (2,100 L) of 160 °F (70 °C) water per minute. It is the largest hot spring in the United States, and the third largest in the world. The vivid colors in the spring are the result of microbial mats around the edges of the mineral-rich water. The mats produce colors ranging from green to red; the amount of color in the microbial mats depends on the ratio of chlorophyll to carotenoids and on the temperature gradient in the runoff. In the summer, the mats tend to be orange and red, whereas in the winter the mats are usually dark green. The center of the pool is sterile due to extreme heat.

    West Thumb Geyser Basin

The West Thumb Geyser Basin is situated at the western edge of a large bay along the shores of Yellowstone Lake. This area is known as the West Thumb caldera which was formed by a volcanic eruption that took place 174,000 years ago. This bay is actually a smaller caldera within the larger Yellowstone caldera. The resulting caldera filled with water, creating the bay.

  • 4The 4th day Yellowstone National Park

    Yellowstone National Park
The largest, oldest, and most famous national park displays a fascinating scenery of hot springs, geysers, canyons & waterfalls, and nature everywhere you look! The beauty is beyond the limits of human art and is the most wonderful and spectacular scenery on the surface of the earth.

    Yellowstone Norris Geyser Basin
Norris Geyser Basin, named after an early Yellow-stone Superintendent, may be the hottest geyser basin in Yellowstone. The stark, barren landscape of Porcelain Basin is the result of an acidic environment. Because of this hostile condition plants, algae and bacteria have difficulty in establishing themselves. Instead the basin derives its colors from mineral oxides, in spectrums of pink, red, orange (iron oxides) and yellow (sulfur and iron sulfates). The acidic water has also created changes in the formation of sinter deposited around vents. Silica deposits as tiny, sharp spines instead of thick, beaded deposits common in more alkaline basins. The largest geyser in the world is located here. Steamboat Geyser has long periods of dormancy, but when it does erupt it sends jets of water nearly 380 feet high in a spectacular display.

    Yellowstone Mammoth Hot Springs
Originally, there were several hot springs flowing from hillside, which was dyed by the microbes in the springs, thus performing a splendid step with multiple colors. However, due to a crustal change in 2002, most of the hot springs were no longer active. After the microbes died, they turned into grayish white powder, which remains on the dried steps, reflecting the dazzling sunlight. The barren land has changed with geographic movements, and the place used to be active could suddenly be quiet, and vice versa.

    Lamar Valley
No other destination in Yellowstone gives you a greater opportunity to see wild bison than Lamar Valley. The Lamar River feeds a wide grassy valley, drawing the massive grazers to the northeast corner of Yellowstone National Park. In addition to bison, Lamar Valley is also renown for its gray wolf population. These crafty creatures are harder to spot than the big bison, but you’ll have a better chance of spotting one around sunrise and sunset. In addition to bison and wolves, you can see elk, pronghorns, and even grizzlies in Lamar Valley. Fishing in the Lamar River is another popular activity in Lamar Valley.

Stargazing in the suburbs of Billings

Are you ready for a lifetime unforgettable stargazing experience? Although nearly 80 percent of the United States cannot see the Milky Way, Montana’s dark skies are one of the last places to experience the stars as everyone once could. Today we will go to Billings, MT, one of the excellent spots for night sky viewing, to see the Milky Way or even the Northern Lights by the naked eye.

  • 5The 5th day Rapid City

    Deadwood walking tour
The discovery of gold in the southern Black Hills in 1874 set off one of the great gold rushes in America. In 1876, miners moved into the northern Black Hills. That’s where they came across a gulch full of dead trees and a creek full of gold and Deadwood was born. Today, the town is booming once again. You’ll find modern-day casinos, resort hotels, full-service spas, big name concerts, and some of the best parties in the entire United States. Come walk in the footsteps of the legends and make history in Deadwood.

    Rapid City
Rapid City lies east of Black Hills National Forest in western South Dakota. It’s known as a gateway to Mt. Rushmore, the massive iconic sculpture of 4 U.S. presidents. Rapid City is home to such attractions as Art Alley, Dinosaur Park, the City of Presidents walking tour, Chapel in the Hills, Storybook Island, and Main Street Square. In the neighboring Black Hills are the tourist attractions of Mount Rushmore, the Crazy Horse Memorial, Custer State Park, Wind Cave National Park, Jewel Cave National Monument, and the museum at the Black Hills Institute of Geological Research, and to the city's east is Badlands National Park.

    Mount Rushmore National Memorial
Mount Rushmore National MemorialMount Rushmore National Memorial is centered around a sculpture carved into the granite face of Mount Rushmore. Mount Rushmore features 60-foot sculptures of the heads of four United States presidents: George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt and Abraham Lincoln.

    Crazy Horse Monument

Crazy Horse Memorial is a mountain monument under construction on privately held land in the Black Hills, in Custer County, South Dakota, United States. It will depict the Oglala Lakota warrior, Crazy Horse, riding a horse and pointing to his tribal land. The monument is being carved out of Thunderhead Mountain, on land considered sacred by some Oglala Lakota, between Custer and Hill City, roughly 17 miles (27 km) from Mount Rushmore. The monument has been in progress since 1948 and is far from completion. If completed as designed, it will become the world's second tallest statue, after the Statue of Unity.

  • 6The 6th day Badlands National Park

    Badlands National Park
Badlands National Park is an American national park located in southwestern South Dakota. The park protects 242,756 acres of sharply eroded buttes and pinnacles, along with the largest undisturbed mixed grass prairie in the United States. The Badlands Wilderness protects 64,144 acres of the park as a designated wilderness area, and is one site where the black-footed ferret, one of the most endangered mammals in the world, was reintroduced to the wild.

    Wall Drug Store

Wall Drug Store, often called simply Wall Drug, is a roadside attraction and tourist stop located in the town of Wall, South Dakota, adjacent to Badlands National Park. Wall Drug consists of a collection of cowboy-themed stores, including a drug store, gift shop, several restaurants, and various other stores, as well as an art gallery and an 80-foot brontosaurus sculpture. Unlike a traditional shopping mall, all the stores at Wall Drug operate under a single entity rather than being run individually. The New York Times has described Wall Drug as "a sprawling tourist attraction of international renown [that] draws some two million annual visitors to a remote town."

  • 7The 7th day Denver --- Rocky Mountain National Park --- Denver

    Rocky Mountain National Park
Rocky Mountain National Park in northern Colorado spans the Continental Divide and encompasses protected mountains, forests and alpine tundra. It's known for the Trail Ridge Road and the Old Fall River Road, drives that pass aspen trees and rivers. The Keyhole Route, a climb crossing vertical rock faces, leads up Longs Peak, the park’s tallest mountain. A trail surrounding Bear Lake offers views of the peaks.

    Red Rocks Park and Amphitheatre
At 6,450 feet above sea level, Red Rocks Park is a unique transitional zone where the Great Plains meet the Rocky Mountains. The diverse environment allows visitors to see plants, birds and animals of both regions. Red Rocks Amphitheatre is a geological phenomenon – the only naturally-occurring, acoustically perfect amphitheatre in the world. From Sting and The Beatles, to opera stars and U2, every artist aspires to play on this magical, spiritual and emotional stage.

    Colorado State Capitol Building
Dotted with stately old mansions, Capitol Hill is a residential district with a bohemian vibe. Popular attractions include the Molly Brown House Museum, a Victorian home decorated with period art and furnishings, and the gold-domed Colorado State Capitol. Capitol Hill is one of the most cosmopolitan neighborhoods in Denver, well known as a haven for artists and bohemians.

    Big Blue Bear
The bear's gesture and size evokes a dialogue between viewer and the viewed. The sculpture is titled, "I See What You Mean." The title itself generates a dialogue between the bear and viewer, placing both in conversation about what they are visually witnessing and sensing. It is a cleaver site-specific bridge between Colorado's fauna and new digital technology. The final bear is made up of about 4000 triangles on the surface. The scale of the bear was propositional to the massive size of the Convention Center. The final blue color of the bear was a happy accident. When creating the first small prototype with a 3D printer, the ABS plastic that created the 3D print just happened to be a bright blue in color. Both Lawrence and Anne quite liked the result as blue also represents the Colorado sky. They agreed that the surface color of the final bear would be lapis lazuli in color. This is a rare powerful stone found in few places in the world, one being Colorado.

    The 16th St Mall, Denver

The 16th Street Mall is located in the heart of downtown Denver, Colorado. Designed by famed architect I.M. Pei, the pedestrian promenade is made of red, white and gray granite in a repeating pattern that, seen from above, resembles the skin of a diamondback rattlesnake. The mall offers Denver's best people watching. There are 42 outdoor cafés along the mall, making it the perfect place to grab a bite to eat or have a drink. Points of interest along the mall include the D&F Tower, a two-thirds replica of the Campanile of St. Mark's in Venice that was the highest building west of the Mississippi when it was built in 1909.
